Big changes to steam trading (please read)

Effectively as of recent, gift copies of steam games can no longer be sent to email adress or being stored in inventory for later use, except being sent directly (this, however wont affect existing gifts)

Well this essentially handicaps sites like Steamgifts and moreso will help generating even more new scams, since eople are literally forced to do one sided trades if they wanr to exchange steam games with other people that arent their friends.Good job Valve, through trying to cripple grey market sites you succesfully shot your users in the leg as well.

At this point I really cant defend them neither should you in my opinion.

    This is actually one of the good moves by Valve regarding some issues they have with some devs. What this means, people won't be able to sell steam gifts on (ᵔᴥᵔ), only keys. No more being able to buy, for example, Don't Starve when it's on sale and costs only 4.99$ and then sell it after sale to make a profit.

    What Valve achieved with this, is that they made developers be fully responsible for their games being sold on (ᵔᴥᵔ), because now only keys can be sold - keys that are obtained via bundle sites and giveaways. And those bundle sites are responsible for card frauds on their systems. You can't buy Steam gifts using card fraud tactics anymore, at least not more than one at a time, so there will be no more Gifts sold on (ᵔᴥᵔ) obtained via card fraud (Because it's not G2As fault, it was a fault of a service that sold that gift to a person that will later resell it on (ᵔᴥᵔ) - i.e. Steam).

    Valve basically distanced themselves from being responsible for any sort of games being sold on gray market, and the only one that is now fully responsible are devs. If devs generate keys and sell them on bundle sites, or give them away, that's the only way key can end up on (ᵔᴥᵔ). But if dev put his game on sale, there's no way that gift bought on discount can be sold on (ᵔᴥᵔ).

    Now tinyBuild can't discount their games on Steam, and then whine about gifts bought during sales are sold on (ᵔᴥᵔ) and that this kills their games sold currently at the full price, while accusing (ᵔᴥᵔ) on selling FULL_PRICE$ worth of their games while it was really DISCOUNTED_PRICE+WHAT_USERS_WANTED_TO_EARN_BY_RESSELING$. Their games sales can only be killed if they bundle or give away their games - aka they sold/gave game themselves outside Steam - Valve don't care anymore where those keys will be resold.

    Smart move Valve! Will kill Steamgifts and (ᵔᴥᵔ) off players, but at least you are less responsible for some stuff.
